Post-Study Work Opportunities in FRANCE
As of December 2024, international students who have completed a Master's degree or higher in France are eligible to apply for a post-study work visa. This visa, known as the "Autorisation Provisoire de Séjour" (APS), allows graduates to remain in France for up to 24 months to seek employment or start a business related to their field of study.
Eligibility: Graduates must have obtained a Master's degree or higher from a recognized French institution.
Duration: The APS is valid for 12 months and can be renewed once, totaling 24 months.
Employment Conditions: During the APS period, graduates can work part-time (up to 964 hours per year). To transition to full-time employment, they must secure a job offer with a salary at least 1.5 times the minimum wage.
Application Timing: It's advisable to apply for the APS before the expiration of the current student residence permit.
Processing Time: The processing time for the APS is typically 15 to 20 working days.
Additionally, recent developments indicate that Indian students pursuing Master's degrees in France may be granted long-term post-study visas of up to five years, enhancing their opportunities to gain international work experience.
